Assessment and Treatment Planning

Assessment and Treatment Planning

Every treatment begins with assessment of the problem, diagnosis and development of a treatment plan. Before starting treatment, clinician and client meet for the first few sessions and discuss what sort of events have led to seeking treatment. During this phase, clinician and client explore the biological, psychological and social precursors to the underlying problem. This is necessary because these areas will be later addressed in the treatment plan. Once this important information is gathered, your therapist is now able to properly diagnose your condition. After establishing the diagnosis, clinician and client will work together on developing individualized treatment plan that is specific to client’s needs.
